The wrap dress is a staple of our wardrobe, and especially during the summer time because lightness usually rhymes with this style. Created by the Belgian American designer Diane Von Fürstenberg in the seventies. The wrap dress was able to stand out over the years to become a real feminine icon. An exhibition was dedicated in its honor in 2014. “The Journey Of A Dress” redraw, in Los Angeles, her 40 years of history. Today, almost 50 years after the arrival of Diane in the United State, heads full of dreams and a suitcase full of samples, the wrap dress has still got a special place in designer’s collections, as shown here on DVF (obvi!), Dior and Tory Burch’s spring summer 2018 runways.
For my look today, I choose a very light dress to survive this heat wave hitting us in Belgium. It’s from Primark and the floral print against the orange background screams sunshine, joy and warmth. I simply accessorized it with a pair of metallic sandals, a bucket bag and a set of gold jewelry.
Curvy tip: the wrap dress is super flattering for every body type, it’s one of the reasons of its success. But it’s particularly working on curvy figure, the waist closure highlights the waist while it skims over the hips beautifully.
I really hope you enjoy this look as much as I do, thank you so much for reading, don’t forget to react in the comment section. I’ll get back to you guys soon, bye !
